It's the first day of Spring/Summer here in DC. As, I left the library on May 3rd, 2018. I was officially done with my undergraduate career. Graduation is still a week away though, meaning I have time to do absolutely nothing and just bathe in self tanner before I take some great [or not so great] graduation pictures. Anyway, I don't think I can explain what it feels like to be officially done, with nothing to do. For a week. What I can do, is summarize it via something I'll call my CVS WISHLIST. Here's a story:
As I changed from my pijamas at 1:42pm, I knew my body needed something. Only one way to find out. *Walks 0.2 miles to CVS*
Items on list that Isabella left on counter:
Buy case of water
Cranberry Juice
Walk around and make sure you don't need anything else so you don't have to come back later
I approached the cashier once I had all the items gathered. As I started putting items on the table, I noticed I bought nothing that was on the list. I convinced myself that the 2/$5 1.5 Liter Fiji bottles were a better option and less heavy to carry. Then I found a 1 liter ICE-cold Fiji and grabbed it too. On the shelves I also grabbed this month's copy of ELLE and Vanity Fair (which had the soon to be royally married on the cover, I may add). SO what's my point with this? That's what this week of post-finals pending post-grad feels like. It makes you feel like you have a list of like 4 things that you need to get done in this last week but you don't seem to want to do them yet because of having so much time. As a college student, you don't get time. You have to make time, and thats something that I've come to appreciate now more than ever.
So if you're still an undergrad, post-grad or have no idea what the heck I'm talking about, take the trip for yourself. Walk outside with a list, a plan or anything along those lines, and let yourself go and enjoy the small things in life. Only those who cherish small moments in life are those who become the happiest overall.
