Oh, graduation! What a wonderful time indeed. The Cherry Blossom trees of DC never cease to amaze me, especially those placed in East Campus at American University. The American University arboretum team has done an exceptional job planting amazing trees (pictured in this article) all around campus for Spring Commencement 2018. 

I have been a student at American University since 2014 and my journey has been anything but easy. My freshman year, I was majoring in International Relations with a minor in German, thinking I had everything figured out and would eventually join the Peace Corps or the United Nations upon graduating. My freshman roommates were great, the food on campus was trash, yet I still had a thirst for more from my experience in DC. By my spring semester, I was decided I wanted an out. I had grown tired of professors and classes focused on "Imagining Peace" and theories about dystopian societies; in a word, I was DONE with International Relations. 

In retrospective, I think that my decision to transfer from the School of International Service to the School of Public Affairs was probably due to the fact that I had spent 5+ years deeply involved in Model United Nations. Though I will never know why I truly made that decision, I am more than happy to say that I have a degree in Political Science from the nationally ranked #8 AU School of Public Affairs, and a degree in International Business from the Kogod School of Business.
